'I, Too': Bringing to Life the Voices of African American Writers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

"I, Too" is an interactive publication that introduces students to African American authors across a wide span of literary eras. The publication is an experiential learning guide that seeks to foster the student/family/community connection by not only teaching students about these authors from a literary standpoint, but by including local relevant places of interest in the community that they can visit with their families to deepen their connection to these authors and their works. "I, Too" seeks to provide detailed instruction about African American authors to highlight their contribution to the American literature canon as well as to provide a diverse student body with a wide range of writers who represent a vital part of the American experience.
