Don't Let Copyright Capsize You!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Navigating the complexities of copyright can be like sailing head first into a storm. However, with increased sharing of projects via the internet, the quick grabbing of images and videos, and the ease of copying and pasting, a knowledge of copyright is more important than ever. In the words of Mark Twain, "Only one thing is impossible for God: to find any sense in any copyright law on the planet." This session will provide some guidelines of copyright, tips for using digital information legally, understanding and applying fair use, the basics of the TEACH act, and a bit of guidance in avoiding plagiarism. Participants will gain a better sense of copyright law to share with and model for their students to better insure a safe journey through the ever-changing sea of technology.
