Welcome to the Brainstorm 2017: Future Ready Students conference website.

PLEASE NOTE:  Using this tool to mark your personal scheduling preferences does not reserve a seat for marked sessions, nor does it register you for the conference.  

We do not plan to have paper programs available on site.

Brainstorm 2017 is held in a public space, therefore we do not prohibit participants, exhibitors, sponsors, or news organizations from photographing conference activities. VSTE, SVTC and James Madison University reserve the right to use images taken at the Conference with your photograph and/or likeness on social media and/or in future marketing materials. We are NOT responsible for individual attendee’s use of your image or likeness.

Parking:
Parking will be available on campus but it is limited. Consider car pooling.

Scratch: You Know You Want To

Of course you want to know how to have your students coding Scratch! But it helps if you have some experience with it first. Any level experience welcomed in this session, including no experience. Scratch is a free coding program that uses blocks, and is a good bridge between a “pre-scripted” environment like Code.org and text-based programming. In this session, we will look just briefly at possible curriculum connections. Resources to help you and your students will be shared.
